If your first guess is something like really durable material, then you’re definitely correct. You need something that can stand up to digging, chewing, and scratching.
However, another route that experts suggest are elevated cots. These are usually made of strong fabrics and are actually very comfortable.
Something else I like to look for is not just something that can stand up to chewing, but also other things like water or urine. Your dog may leak a little urine on the bed, especially if they’re older. If it soaks in, then your investment is gone. If it has the additional waterproof protection, then that dog bed is going to last.
